The one-day excursion began at 7:00 AM and concluded with the pupils’ safe return to school at 12:50 PM.
The field trip provided learners with meaningful experiences that enriched their understanding of science, culture, and history. At the Botanical Garden, students observed various plant species and explored natural environments that reinforced their lessons on biodiversity and environmental conservation.
The next stop, Wright Park, allowed pupils to appreciate local culture, particularly the iconic horseback-riding tradition of the Cordillera region. Teachers took this opportunity to highlight the importance of cultural heritage and community identity.
The final destination, The Mansion, offered students a glimpse into Philippine governance and history. Viewing the President’s official summer residence helped deepen their understanding of national leadership and historical architecture.

10/29/2025

In a vibrant celebration of unity, culture, and gratitude, USI community gathered on October 29, 2025, for this year’s International Thanksgiving Day themed “Gratitude without Borders: United in Thankfulness.” The event opened with an inspiring scripture from Psalm 96:3–4: “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.    For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.”
The verse set a reverent and joyous tone for a day filled with worship, cultural appreciation, and heartfelt thanksgiving
The celebration began with powerful praise led by the Uni Worship Team, who performed “Praise” and “Thank You Jesus.” The spirit of worship resonated strongly throughout the venue as attendees joined in song and reflection.
Pastor Julius Solis delivered an uplifting Thanksgiving message, reminding everyone of the beauty of gratitude and the importance of acknowledging God’s abundant faithfulness across nations and generations.
Warm and encouraging words from Yechan Roh officially welcomed guests, setting an atmosphere of unity and anticipation for the multicultural presentations that followed.
The Cultural Presentations segment emerged as one of the most anticipated highlights of the celebration, showcasing the rich diversity and vibrancy of the nations represented within the community. The program opened with Grade 1’s charming Vietnamese performance, “Hát Hội Trăng Rằm (Singing at the Full Moon Festival),” a delightful tribute to Vietnam’s beloved Mid-Autumn Festival. This was followed by Grade 2 and 10B, who energized the audience with their lively American numbers, “Footloose” and “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.” Grade 4 then transported everyone to Peru through the spirited Valicha Peruvian Dance, capturing the rhythmic essence of the Andes. Continuing the celebration of global heritage, Grade 5 brought Uganda to life with the joyful and expressive “Tamasha.” Grades 6 and 7 presented a graceful and melodic interpretation of the Solomon Islands’ “He Mele No Lilo,” enchanting the crowd with its island charm. Grade 11 showcased European tradition and elegance through a vibrant Polish Folk Dance, while Grade 12 delivered a dynamic cross-cultural finale featuring Korea’s “The Tiger is Coming” and the Philippines’ “Tara Na, Kanta Na Pilipinas.” Each performance was met with enthusiastic applause, reflecting the community’s deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the students’ heartfelt celebration of their global identities.
The program concluded with the uplifting singing of “Unite All Nations,” a fitting finale that echoed the event’s spirit of harmony and togetherness. This was followed by heartfelt closing remarks and a sincere prayer led by Jhara S. Cruz, who expressed deep gratitude for the meaningful gathering and offered blessings for the year ahead. Her message left the audience with a renewed sense of unity, thankfulness, and hope as the celebration came to a close.
This year, the celebration also highlighted outstanding creativity and participation through special recognitions. “Best in Costume” was awarded to Grade 4, whose vibrant attire perfectly complemented their spirited Peruvian dance. “Best in Performance” went to Grade 5, whose energetic and joyful presentation of “Tamasha” captivated the audience. Meanwhile, Grade 8 earned the title of “Best in Booth” for their impressive setup that stood out among the food and activity stations. Junior and Senior High School Students Join Tree Planting Activity in Partnership with DENR-CAR

9/27/2025

Selected students from the Junior and Senior High School departments participated in a Tree Planting activity held on September 26, 2025, at South Drive, Baguio City, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Cordillera Administrative Region (DENR-CAR).
With the theme “One Tree at a Time, One Life at a Time,” the activity underscored the shared commitment of the participants to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and the nurturing of life through every tree planted.
The student representatives, guided by school staff and DENR-CAR personnel, planted various tree species in designated areas as part of the government’s reforestation and environmental preservation efforts. Through this initiative, the youth demonstrated their vital role in protecting nature and promoting ecological awareness within their communities.
Engr. Leandro L. De Jesus, CENR Officer, expressed his appreciation to the participating students and partner institutions for their dedication and teamwork.
“The students’ participation has made a meaningful impact in building a greener future for generations to come,” Engr. De Jesus said.

USI  Participates in Nationwide Earthquake Drill

9/11/2025

Picture
September 11, 2025 — Union School International (USI) in Baguio City actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), a government-led initiative aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and response capabilities across the country.
Spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the NSED encourages schools, government agencies, private institutions, and the general public to rehearse their response to a major earthquake scenario.
At exactly 9:30 a.m., the school initiated the drill with the sounding of two long bells — the signal for a simulated earthquake. In response, students, faculty, and staff immediately performed the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" protocol to protect themselves from potential falling debris.
Following the initial response, all individuals calmly evacuated their classrooms and offices, proceeding in an orderly fashion to the school’s designated evacuation area. A headcount was conducted to ensure that all were accounted for, reinforcing the importance of situational awareness and coordination during emergencies.
School administrators praised the collective discipline and seriousness of the participants. “Preparedness saves lives”. Activities like this one help us cultivate a culture of safety and readiness within our school community.
Union School International remains committed to supporting government initiatives on disaster resilience and ensuring the safety and well-being of its students and personnel.

Spiritual Emphasis Week with the Theme “Whole and Holy”

8/15/2025

August 13–15, 2025 — Union School International (USI) launched the school year with its annual Spiritual Emphasis Week, held from August 13 to 15. With the theme “Whole and Holy,” inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:23 and Matthew 22:37, the 3-day event focused on nurturing students’ spiritual growth by learning to love God with their heart, mind, and soul.
Each day centered on a specific theme. Day 1 (Heart) encouraged students to love God through emotions and relationships, featuring devotionals, games, and a role-play activity. Day 2 (Mind) emphasized renewing the mind through a mental health talk, first aid training, and a journaling session on surrendering thoughts to God. Day 3 (Soul) highlighted spiritual identity, creative reflection, and personal commitments through student sharing and letter-writing to God.
The mornings began with worshipful Zumba sessions and meaningful devotionals led by USI teachers. Group activities like “Heart Builders,” “Faith Goals Board,” and “Word Drill” offered students opportunities to reflect, connect, and grow in their faith.
Spiritual Emphasis Week closed with a photo session and token distribution to celebrate the students’ participation and commitment. USI continues to prioritize holistic development, helping students grow not only academically but also in their personal walk with God.
