Bright Minds, Bold Visions:  Science Fair 2025 Sparks Innovation

6/9/2025

On May 9, 2025, USI proudly held its annual Science Fair at the school grounds in Balacbac, B.C., under the theme “Vision for the Future: Exploring Innovation for a Better and More Advanced World.” Inspired by Exodus 35:31–32, the event emphasized the importance of wisdom, knowledge, and creativity as gifts from God, to be used for meaningful and purposeful innovation.
The day began with the setup of student display boards, transforming the venue into a hub of exploration and discovery. The opening program featured an inspiring prayer by Mingyeol Kim and welcome remarks from Alexinne Joxeif  Ingson. Judges Ms. Daisy Rose O. Cendana, Ms. Rhoda Mae V. Allera, and Mr. Janzie Laberinto Jadormera were introduced by Soeun Kim, Jisuk Lee, and Yongjae Lee, followed by an orientation led by Teacher Lyka to guide both judges and participants.
From elementary to senior high school, students proudly presented their science projects, covering a range of creative and forward-thinking topics. The judging took place in two sessions, allowing each participant to explain their concepts, methods, and potential impact. Breaks and lunch provided moments for reflection, connection, and encouragement among students and staff.
The event concluded with a closing program that included the awarding of certificates to judges by the school head Ms. Jennifer M. Bogayong. The much-anticipated announcement of winners followed, recognizing the Best Project and Scientist of the Year from each level—elementary, junior high, and senior high. The day ended with a heartfelt prayer led by Yoonsung Ko, bringing the event to a thoughtful close.
Science Fair 2025 was a celebration of young minds boldly imagining the future. Through their passion for discovery and their faith-rooted vision, students proved that the pursuit of knowledge is both a gift and a responsibility. Congratulations to all participants and winners for making this year’s science fair a remarkable success!
