USI Strengthens Disaster Preparedness with Fire Safety Seminar and Drill

1/30/2026

On January 30, 2026, Union School International successfully conducted a Fire Safety Seminar and Fire and Earthquake Drill in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Baguio City. The activity aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote safety awareness among students, teachers, and staff.
Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection – Baguio City led the informative seminar, sharing essential knowledge on fire prevention, emergency response, and proper evacuation procedures. Students learned practical steps on how to prevent fire-related incidents, properly use a fire extinguisher, and respond quickly and safely during emergencies.
Following the seminar, the school community participated in a coordinated fire and earthquake drill. The simulation allowed students, faculty, and staff to practice the correct safety protocols in a controlled emergency scenario. Through guided evacuation procedures and response strategies, participants were able to apply what they had learned during the seminar.
The activity highlighted the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and quick decision-making in times of crisis. It also gave students the opportunity to develop confidence and awareness in responding to potential disasters.
By organizing this event in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection, Union School International reaffirmed its strong commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and disaster-ready learning environment for its entire school community.
